Jaine Best FCA
When I started Accountably Ltd in 2003 I was aware that many smaller businesses were not receiving the level of service they deserved from the larger firms of accountants. In particular they did not have sufficient access to a senior accountant and as a result often felt their affairs were not given priority.
I have over 20 years experience in practice. I am a fully qualified accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Having spent part of my career working in a tax department of a larger firm I am also member of the Institute’s Tax Faculty.
I have a son and daughter and have lived in Hamble with my husband Paul for the last 10 years. My hobbies include reading, travel and an obsession with all things tax related.
Lorna Simpson FCCA
I started my accountancy career in industry so came into practice with good all round experience of business. I am a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
I started working with Jaine at Accountably after the birth of my two sons and was delighted to be offered a directorship as the practice grew.
I enjoy being able to help people start or continue to follow their dreams of being self employed or business owners by taking away some of the stress that the burden of regulation and legislation brings.
I have two sons and live on Hayling Island with my husband Jim. My time outside of work is currently taken up with training for the 2012 London Marathon.
Beth Currie ACA
I qualified as a chartered accountant in 1999 working for a small local firm. When my employer was taken over by a large practice, I realised that this was not for me. I enjoy working closely with small businesses, being involved on a day-to-day basis with them, and helping them with their accounting procedures and tax planning.
After running my own accountancy practice with my husband for over 8 years, I am very happy to now be involved with Accountably, which has the same level of personal service for clients, and the same ethos in providing high quality accountancy services to smaller businesses.
Outside of work, I am very active and a qualified fitness instructor; I enjoy teaching zumba and bodycombat fitness classes in the evenings. I live in Southampton with my husband Dave and our two dogs.
