Jonathan Bardolph ACA, FCCA, BFP, BA (Hons)
Director, Accountably
Jonathan has worked closely with aesthetics practitioners and clinics for many years, developing a strong understanding of the financial, tax and business issues specific to the sector.
He has spoken for BACN and BAMAN, as well as at ACE and CCR, sharing practical guidance with both new and established practitioners.
His connection with the sector began through his mother, who was one of the founders of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses and ran her own aesthetics business. That early insight has since been built on through years of direct
professional experience.
Every aesthetics business develops differently.
Some begin alongside other clinical work, while others are already established clinics with teams, premises and plans for further growth.
Accountably provides support that reflects where your business is now and where you want it to go.
Support with the accounts, tax and systems needed to build strong foundations.
Practical guidance as you invest in equipment, review your structure or expand the services you offer.
Ongoing support as your clinic, team and financial responsibilities develop.
Support based on the services and level of involvement your business needs.
A straightforward understanding of what Accountably will handle and what information we will need from you.
Relevant support when decisions, changes or future plans need to be considered.
It is a question many aesthetics practitioners ask, and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. The best structure will depend on factors such as your profits, other income, how much you need to take from the business, your plans for growth and the level of responsibility involved. Jonathan and the Accountably team can compare the practical and financial differences with you, so you understand the options and can make a decision based on your own circumstances rather than a general rule.
Here’s a simple guide to when sole trader status may still be the best fit and when it might be time to consider a limited company.
Sole trader status may be the better fit
if your business is smaller, part-time, still developing or
if limited company compliance
costs would outweigh the benefit.
This may apply if:
A limited company can offer tax benefits and protection, but it also comes with more responsibilities and costs. It’s worth exploring if your business is changing.
This may apply if:
Not sure which structure is right for you? We can look at your situation and explain your options clearly,
so you are not relying on guesswork or general advice that may not apply to your business.
Whether you are an individual practitioner, an established limited company or a growing clinic, we can talk through the support you need and whether Accountably is the right fit.
You don’t need to have everything perfectly organised
before you speak to us.
Start with where you are,
and we’ll help you understand your options clearly.
Tell us about your practice.
Let us know where your business is now and what support you are looking for.
We’ll talk through your needs
Jonathan will ask the right questions and explain where Accountably may be able to help.

You’ll understand the next steps, where we can help,
